New Press Releases up in the News section.
Malcolm Strachan, born in 1984, has lived
in a life of motorsport since
day one. In 1994, at the age of
10, he started karting in the
novice ranks, and progressed up
through the junior four-stroke
and two-stroke classes.
In 1999, at the age of 16, he
moved into sports car racing,
in a regional-GT3 Toyota MR2.
Later that year, he contested
a mildly prepared Mazda RX7 Turbo.
The
following year, many modifications
were made to the RX7, and he claimed
the Ontario GT2 Driver's championship.
Since 2002, Malcolm has contested a Corvette
C5 in a few championships. He won the CASC Touring-GT
Championship in 2003, the 2005 Quebec GTO title, and
placed second in the 2002 Canadian GT Challenge Cup, as
well as the 2004 Ontario GTA Championship (both were lost
due to mechanical issues). Malcolm also won the 2005
Quebec GTO Championship with four wins and a second.
Malcolm is currently finishing his mechanical engineering degree
at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. His future
goals include racing in the American Le Mans Series, and racing at
Le Mans in the famous 24-hour race held there each June. He is also
looking toward breaking into the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series with
hopes to establish himself in stock-car racing.
